Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that deals with the medical care of infants, children and adolescents. Pediatrics deals with pediatrics in general.

Pediatric care covers a wide range of health services from preventive health services to diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases.

It is a discipline that deals with the biological, social and environmental effects on the developing child, and the effects of disease and dysfunction on development. Children differ from adults anatomically, physiologically, immunologically, psychologically, developmentally and metabolically.
